I am a single mom and really think that I may have been born in the wrong era. I love all things creative; knitting, quilting, cooking, writing and my new love felting! I have been living the “green” lifestyle for over 20 years and now I am not the person that jokes are made about around the dinner table, well not as much as I used to be. I love to garden and get such joy going out to the garden to pick fresh veggies for dinner, my daughter loves it too, especially just picking the strawberries and popping them in her mouth! Great friends, great conversation and a nourishing meal are my idea of a GREAT evening! I love to share my knowledge and to listen and learn from others. Welcome.

Reading your very first blog entry raises my consciousness and isn’t that what this is all about? Every little thing we do where we bring awareness and a desire that it be for Highest and Best good allows us to heal, transform and transcend our lives and our planet. You go Rural Goddess. How proud I am to be sharing this journey with you.
With joyful intention,
Shira

Thank you for coming along for the journey, hope you are the first of many!
Thanks so much to Pamela and Stella for serving on the Floyd Food Stamp Challenge panel. (March 15, 2014) Stella gave us her perspective on food being “boring” during the challenge and the most significant fact: There is enough food to feed all the people in the world. (She said it better!)
Pamela: Thanks for grounding us about yes, seeds are OK and no we don’t get compost, tools and soil or necessarily the energy to garden. You were very impressive in your comments around our culture’s stigma about people on unemployment and food stamps. Your sharing enriched my evening.
